About this course
This course surveys the shape and needs of Industry 4.0 and the features of digitalized and automated workplaces within the contexts of policymaking, socio-political leadership, retraining schemes, political economy of industry transformation, industrial actions and the concept of employability in government-private sector. This course also outlines the challenges and benefits of the digital revolution, Industry 4.0 and Globalisation 2.0.

What you will learn
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
- Discuss the speed, scope and impact of Industry 4.0 and Globalization 2.0.
- Explain key concepts related to retraining needs.
- Explain the nexus and interconnections between government, private sector/management and workers/unions (the ‘tripartite’).
- Describe the political, social, and economic challenges of coordinating the retraining process and articulating changes in the workplace.
- Compare and contrast Singapore case study with other empirical comparative examples.
Assessment
You must complete an online quiz with a passing score of 50% (i.e., 5 out of 10 questions). You will be given multiple attempts to achieve the passing score. The system will only capture the highest of the scores.
